A MESSAGE FROM…Dr. Edna Burems, Principal
I am honored and delighted to have joined the Stephen White Community. Since beginning my principal tenure on July 29th, I have explored the campus, community and departments that make up this remarkable institution. I am energized by the environment that surrounds us! Our students are eager learners, our faculty are respected scholars and our alumni and community are loyal and generous.

By now you have received the most important word about how this school year has begun—the progress reports, mid-term mark report cards, back-to-school night events, school-wide fundraisers, book fair, and many other events that have taken place on campus. The faculty and staff at Stephen White Middle School hope these reports and events are positive. We hope you feel that the school year has begun well for your child.

Your child may already have filled you in on some of the details of life at Stephen White—whether the other students are friendly, what the teachers are like here, the quality of the lunches served, and whether Stephen White is easier or harder than the school your child last attended. We like to think that after the first ten weeks all new and returning students feel like veterans.

We are pleased to have you as partners in this educational year. As the year progresses, and as you become either more informed or puzzled, we encourage you to call the school and talk with those who might be of help. If your question deals with in-class events, please ask to speak with or email the teacher. If it deals with the overall program, curriculum, or activities, please contact me directly.

I am quickly becoming acclimated to the life here at Stephen White and hope to soon connect with you. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our students; it does not go unnoticed.

As we reach new heights, let’s make Stephen White Middle School one of the flagship schools in the district. Together, I am confident we can achieve even greater things.

With sincere thanks and appreciation,
Dr. Edna Burmes
Principal
